Rembrandt Lighting:
Rembrandt lighting is used because it is a dramatic light that uses the contrast between light and dark. It will draw the viewers attention from where the light triangle is from. It is best used for portrait photos. Rembrandt lighting is used by placing the light in which you want to capture the portrait and what you are looking for. Place the key light about 5 feet away and about a 45 degree angle and about 2 feet above their eye level. Adjust the model accordingly to where you would like the shadow to be placed between of the camera and the light.

Critique:
This picture (first column, fourth row) was taken with split lighting in the graffiti wall. The first thing I looked at was the eye in the light because that is what I was drawn to ad her eye and the light then brought me to the background of the photo. I could improve this picture by getting the right side of her face be darker and the model should be farther away from the camera. This model could also be in the middle of the photo instead to the side a little bit to give contrast a little more symmetry.
